Ya I usually love their stuff and while the second dance was cute-ish I wasn’t…idk moved.

What they need to do is not burn them out/just use them sparingly for “light” hip hop. Bring Dave Scott back or get some new harder hitting choreographers.
The problem is that they need to stop trying to move people with their choreo. I’m so over this ~lyrical hip hop. Hip hop is about exploring new unconventional ways to move your body, rhythm, musicality, etc etc. Stop trying to make people ~feel by making pained faces, adding on unnecessary stories, and choreographing around all the hard beats so that they can hit those moves with ~emotion and leaving empty space to emphasize it. It comes off very staccato and is unimaginative. The pound of the music at the end of a 4-count shouldn’t dictate or overpower or be the move.
Yes, please to Dave Scott. There are a million people they could bring in. Marty Kudelka, Brian Tanaka, Keone Madrid, Mari Martin. NappyTabs are fine when they need an easy routine.
That’s my other issue. It’s really really easy hip hop. Even if it’s not their genre, they should be given harder routines. There’s no fluidity. And they’re obsessed with connecting the partners through movement, and not on a seamless way, but trying to be creative and using each other to instigate movement and leaving a lot of the dance stationary in the process. But it always comes off hokey and herky jerky.
It’s just bad.
